1988-2024 GM 2500/3500 Welding Bed W/ Recessed Deck

Description:

The welding bed shown above is designed to turn any 1988-2024 Chevy/GMC 2500 or 3500 SRW short-bed pickup into a full-on welding rig. This bed is most notable for it's simple and almost retro-looking construction, while still maintaining the functionality of the much more 'flashy' welding beds. It's primary purpose is to help you get quality field work done, while maximizing the use of the limited bed real-estate that comes with a short-bed pickup.

Features:

From the back of the cab-forward, this bed has a single-bottle oxygen holder, a single-bottle acetylene holder, and a 25 1/2"L X 60"W (3" deep) welder recess, designed to get your machine as low as possible. As you move back, there is a raised work deck that houses the two rear deck boxes (36"L X 19"W X 20"H). And in the tail, there are two 2" hitch receivers for accessory mounting, as well as a recessed license plate box. The factory rear hitch can still be used with this design.

Upon purchasing this set of plans you will receive: A 30 page .pdf layout detailing all of the cuts, components, plates & assemblies, as well as a 1 page .pdf bill of materials listing everything you'll need for the build. There is also an optional upgrade to include the .dxf CNC files of all sheet metal components that can be cut on a plasma table or laser.
